PRODUCTS | CTM Star NTD Tomato Harvester

The CTM Star NTD Tomato Harvester, introduced in 2007, is quickly becoming the leader of tomato harvesters. It is a self-propelled machine with an innovative design to meet and exceed the needs of the processing tomato industry.

Its name, Star NTD, stems from its unique No-Turn Design, which sets it apart from other harvesters. It gathers, separates, shakes, cleans, and sorts processing tomatoes in a straight line. This revolutionary design reduces the number of conveyors by 30%, providing simplified machine cleaning, weight reduction, and lower operational costs. Fewer drops and turns in material flow results in less fruit damage.

The Star NTD is a small-scale machine with the capacity previously only found in large scale harvesters. The machine’s narrow width, reduced weight and tighter turning radius makes moving the Star NTD from field to field easier, resulting in less down time and more productivity. With its enhanced performance, durability and few parts, the Star NTD is designed specifically to match the productivity of the previous CTM Harvester models at a rate of seventy tons per hour output.

The patented three-weight shaker system provides optimal removal of fruit from vine at slower speeds and longer strokes. Rotational and frequency controls allow operators to adjust settings for all varieties and conditions.

The Star NTD recovery bed is 3 times longer than comparable systems seen on other harvesters, which reduces loses off the machine to nearly zero.

Equipping the machine with the Cull Option takes harvesting to a completely new level. Fruit typically lost through the color sort now is recycled back on to the machine through a 24-channel sorter. This allows the operator the ability to turn up the dirt and color sensitivity on the color sorter to improve the sorting without creating excessive losses. Savings in recovered tomatoes typically lost on other machines is one to two tons per acre.

The Star NTD, features a John Deere 6068H Tier 3, 225 Horse Power engine and a hydrostatic 2-speed ground drive. 4-wheel steering and a tight turning radius offer operators improved maneuverability.

Recognized by the American Society of Agricultural Engineers with an AE50 award, the Star NTD will help you reduce your harvesting costs by twenty percent.
